It is finally here!! We now have a method of hair removal for those clients who cannot have laser hair removal due to the lack of melanin in the hair follicle. Electrolysis is a hair removal method that uses an electric current to destroy the hair follicle and prevent hair growth. During the electrolysis process, a small, fine probe is inserted into the hair follicle, and a low-level electric current is applied to the probe. This current destroys the hair follicle and prevents new hair growth. There are three main types of electrolysis for hair removal: galvanic electrolysis, thermolysis, and blend electrolysis.
Galvanic electrolysis involves the use of a direct current to create a chemical reaction that destroys the hair follicle. This method is slow and can be uncomfortable for some people. Thermolysis uses high-frequency electrical current to heat and destroy the hair follicle. This method is faster than galvanic electrolysis and is typically less uncomfortable. Blend electrolysis combines both galvanic electrolysis and thermolysis to provide a more effective and comfortable hair removal experience. Electrolysis is considered a safe and effective method for hair removal, and it can be used on all skin types and hair colours.
Shortwave diathermy can be administered in two ways: capacitive and inductive. Capacitive diathermy involves the use of two electrodes, one placed on either side of the affected area, that generate an electric field between them. This electric field causes the tissues in the affected area to generate heat, which can help to relieve pain and inflammation. Inductive diathermy, on the other hand, involves the use of a coil that is placed directly on the affected area. This coil generates an electromagnetic field that penetrates deep into the tissues, causing them to generate heat.

Additionally to us launching this new treatment we will also be offering removal of blemishes on the body and face such as skin tags, moles, cherry angiomas, thread veins, verrucae’s and warts.
We anticipate the release of this treatment in May 2023 just in time for the summer months.
I have been one of the models the team have been working on whilst trialling out this treatment and I am thrilled with the results. I have very fine downy peach fuzz hair and they have done a great job in removing it for me. Laser was not an option due to the hair being so blonde so this is a great alternative for me.– Shirley
